Retail is playing a significant role in the continuing revival of Detroit’s core. Olympia Development of Michigan, which is building a mixed-use project in the downtown area, will be at RECon this month seeking retail tenants for The District Detroit, as the project is called.
The $200 million project's three restored historic buildings and three new ones will offer a mix of offices and ground-floor retail, reports REJournals.
District Detroit is going up near the Little Caesars Arena, home of the NBA's Detroit Pistons and the NHL's Detroit Red Wings, and will create some 70,000 square feet of retail space and roughly 400,000 square feet of offices, the newspaper reports.
