Tucson, Ariz.
Bourn Cos., Retail West Properties and The University of Arizona are collaborating on the multiphase redevelopment of the Downtown Tucson Airport as a mixed-use project. Construction on The Bridges Main Street, as the project will be called, is to begin next year. The complex will include a big-box retailer-anchored center called Marketplace at The Bridges. Visalia, Calif.
Paynter Realty & Investments will convert the 85,500-square-foot former Kmart anchor at Rancho Viejo shopping center into offices. The Business Journal

St. Petersburg, Fla.
Saglo Development is renovating the 73,000-square-foot Central Plaza Shopping Center, downtown, with new LED lighting, security cameras, awnings and landscaping. A plasma-donor center anchors the property. Catalyst

Dunwoody, Ga.
German supermarket chain Lidl will be moving into a 37,000-square-foot former Sprouts anchor at the Mount Vernon Shopping Center. Reporter Newspapers

South Fulton, Ga.
City officials and developer Adams & Co. celebrated the ground-breaking of Sandtown Crossing, which will consist of a 48,400-square-foot Publix flanked by two 8,200-square-foot buildings, with a CVS and SandTown Pub among the tenants. The center is to open next fall. City of South Fulton Observer

Gastonia, N.C.
U.S. Developments entered into a formal memorandum of understanding with the city of Gastonia to develop mixed-use properties on the periphery of the 919,000-square-foot Eastridge Mall. The new spaces will include a movie theater, a bowling alley and an aquatics center. Gaston Gazette

Burlington Township, N.J.
Clarion Partners has plans to redevelop the shuttered Burlington Center Mall into a mixed-use property with 400 residential units, plus retail, restaurants and warehouses. Burlington County Times

The 90,000-square-foot Bernardsville Centre celebrated the grand opening of its $6 million renovation and expansion to accommodate new tenants Sherwin-Williams and CycleBar. My Central Jersey

Panera Bread will build a 4,300-square-foot eatery on the site of the demolished Boston Market restaurant at Point Loomis Shopping Center, in the Southpoint neighborhood. BizTimes
