In the pipeline: Who’s building what where

Birmingham, Ala.
The Shoppes at Stadium Trace Village is to be the retail component of a mixed-use complex. Among the food tenants are a Cajun Roux restaurant, Frutta Bowls and Mooyah Burgers, and the retail and service offerings include the Wrapsody gift boutique and Jeremy Stephens Salon. Map Development and Retail Specialists are handling the leasing. Construction is to begin in early October, and the stores and shops are scheduled to open next summer. Hoover Sun

Yulee, Fla.
Cross Regions Group has plans to develop a six-building, 47,000-square-foot retail center to be called Tyler Plaza West. News4Jax

Kansas City, Mo.
Developers are moving forward on the $55 million Uptown Lofts, which is to replace a distressed retail center with a mixed-use complex of 223 apartments, a bank, a gym and some retail space. Developers say they hope to break ground between April and June of next year. The Kansas City Star

Rapid City, S.D.
Local developer Hani Shafai purchased the Northgate Shopping Center and says he plans to spend $10 million to renovate and redevelop the 51-year-old property as Dakota Market Square. Rapid City Journal

Houston
Developer Midway topped out on the first phase of the Buffalo Heights District. The seven-story, 742,000-square-foot, mixed-use development, at Washington Avenue and South Heights Boulevard, is scheduled for completion in the fall of next year. The project has a 96,000-square-foot, urban-style HEB on the ground floor and about 111,000 square feet of grocery-store parking on the second level. Houston Chronicle

Odessa, Texas
Houston-based Gordon Partners announced plans to renovate the 70,000-square-foot Sherwood Village. The project is scheduled for completion next year. The Odessa American

Dallas
Hillcrest Village owners 2GR Equity and Shop Cos. have plans to renovate the center within the next 12 to 24 months. The redevelopment will involve exteriors, lighting, signs and landscaping. One of the property’s six retail buildings is to be torn down and replaced with a 1.5-acre park. Dallas News

Milwaukee
Interstate Development Partners is moving along with its $65 million conversion of downtown’s Grand Avenue mall into a mixed-use complex. The developer will introduce a fitness center, a conference center and some apartments. Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel
