General Scholarships

These scholarships are awarded directly by the ICSC Foundation and ICSC Foundation Canada and are for students within the United States and Canada.

Applications will open for 2026-27 ICSC Foundation Scholarships on Thursday, January 15, 2026, and will be accepted until Monday, March 2, 2026.

Benefits for all scholarship recipients include:

  • A tuition grant
  • An all-expenses-paid trip to ICSC LAS VEGAS for U.S. recipients or ICSC@CANADA for Canadian recipients.

  • Pairing with an industry mentor through the ICSC Foundation’s Mentorship Program
  • Complimentary ICSC student membership through your graduation date

Requirements for all scholarship applicants:

  • A minimum of a 3.0 GPA (out of a 4.0 scale)
  • Must have a demonstrated interest in
    (1)  the retail real estate industry, focusing on the development and management of marketplaces and spaces where people shop, dine, work, play, and gather or
    (2)  entrepreneurship if applying for the Roslyn & Elliot Jaffe Retail Entrepreneur Prize or Schurgin Family Foundation Entrepreneurial Scholarship

Undergraduate Scholarships — United States

All applicants applying to any U.S. undergraduate scholarship must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Full-time sophomore, junior or senior enrolled at an accredited university in fall 2026
  • Preference given to those with financial need
  • Students from underrepresented groups are highly encouraged to apply

Benefits include: 

  • $5,000 toward tuition, fees, books and supplies

Undergraduate & Graduate Scholarships – United States

Eligibility criteria: 

  • Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident

  • Full-time undergraduate or graduate student enrolled at an accredited university in fall 2026

Benefits include:

  • $10,000 toward tuition, fees, books and supplies

Eligibility criteria:

  • Citizen or permanent resident of the United States or international student
  • Undergraduate (full-time) or graduate student (full-time or part-time) enrolled at an accredited university at the time of applying (open to individuals or a team)

  • Applicants must be passionate about launching a new retail concept, product, idea or pre-seed stage company (either brick-and-mortar or online)

Benefits include:

  • $10,000

Additional requirements:

  • Must submit a business plan presentation for new retail concept, including:
    • Video (maximum 4 minutes): Introduction of yourself, your concept/vision and a general pitch, including why your concept is unique

    • Executive summary (maximum 3 pages): Provide background on industry, overview of your business concept, target consumer/markets, financial plan and marketing strategy

  • Preference is given to those with financial need

  • CAD $5,000 toward tuition, fees, books and supplies

Eligibility criteria:

  • Full-time second-, third- or fourth-year student enrolled at an accredited Canadian university or college in fall 2026

Benefits include:

  • CAD $5,000 toward tuition, fees, books and supplies

Eligibility criteria:

  • Full-time second-, third- or fourth-year student enrolled at an accredited Canadian university or college in fall 2026

Benefits include:

  • CAD $5,000 toward tuition, fees, books and supplies
  • Tour of Yorkdale Shopping Centre with management and leasing members during ICSC@CANADA in October 2026

  • Separate and apart from the scholarship, Yorkdale Shopping Centre will provide a perk of a personal shopping session with a Yorkdale stylist valued up to CAD $800

Eligibility criteria:

  • Full-time second-, third- or fourth-year student enrolled at an accredited Canadian university or college in fall 2026
  • Preference given to those with an interest in retail analytics and spatial analysis; students studying geomatics (GIS) will be considered

Benefits include:

  • CAD $5,000 toward tuition, fees, books and supplies

Graduate Scholarships – United States

  • Preference given to those with financial need and a commitment to their communities and giving back

Benefits include: 

  • $10,000 toward tuition, fees, books and supplies

Eligibility requirement:

  • Citizen or permanent resident of the United States or international student attending a university in the United States
  • Current undergraduate (full-time) or graduate student (full-time or part-time) enrolled at an accredited university

Benefits include:

  • Up to $1,500 grant (amount determined by estimated travel costs)
