General Scholarships

These scholarships are awarded directly by the ICSC Foundation and ICSC Foundation Canada and are for students within the United States and Canada.

Congratulations to our 2024–25 ICSC Foundation Scholarship recipients!

Applications are now closed for 2024–25 ICSC Foundation Scholarships. Applications for 2025–26 ICSC Foundation Scholarships will open in mid-January 2025.

Benefits for all scholarship recipients include:

  • A tuition grant
  • An all-expenses-paid trip to ICSC LAS VEGAS for U.S. recipients or a Canadian-based event for Canadian recipients.
  • Pairing with an industry mentor through the ICSC Foundation’s Mentorship Program
  • Complimentary ICSC student membership until you graduate

Requirements for all scholarship applicants:

  • A minimum of a 3.0 GPA (out of a 4.0 scale)
  • Must have a demonstrated interest in
    (1)  the Marketplaces Industry, focusing on the development and management of marketplaces and spaces where people shop, dine, work, play, and gather
    (2)  or entrepreneurship if applying for the Roslyn & Elliot Jaffe Retail Entrepreneur Prize

Undergraduate Scholarships — United States

All applicants applying to any U.S. undergraduate scholarship must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Full-time sophomore, junior or senior enrolled at an accredited university in fall 2024
  • For sophomores and juniors, the award is renewable for an additional year provided renewal criteria are met

Benefits include:

  • $5,000 toward tuition, fees, books and supplies

Undergraduate & Graduate Scholarships – United States

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident.

  • Full-time undergraduate or graduate student enrolled at an accredited university in fall 2024

  • Students from underrepresented backgrounds are encouraged to apply, including, for example, those from racial/ethnic minority groups, women, veterans, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and people with disabilities.

  • $10,000 toward tuition, fees, books and supplies

  • Citizen or permanent resident of the United States or Canada or international student
  • Undergraduate (full-time) or graduate student (full-time or part-time) enrolled at an accredited university at the time of applying (open to individuals or a team)

  • Applicants must be passionate about launching a new retail concept, product, idea or pre-seed stage company (either brick-and-mortar or online)

Benefits include:

  • $10,000

Additional requirements:

  • Must submit a business plan presentation for new retail concept, including:
    • Video (maximum 3 minutes): Introduction of yourself, your concept/vision and a general pitch, including why your concept is unique

    • Executive summary (maximum 3 pages): Provide background on industry, overview of your business concept, target consumer/markets, financial plan and marketing strategy

Undergraduate Scholarships — Canada

Applicant must be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Canadian citizen or permanent resident
  • Full-time second-, third- or fourth-year student enrolled at an accredited university in fall 2024

Benefits include:

  • CAD 2,500 or CAD 5,000 toward tuition, fees, books and supplies
