PREIT and Taubman Centers have joined other U.S. mall owners in forming a partnership with same-day delivery service firm Deliv, which is expanding ahead of the holiday season. Deliv, already operating in Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco, and in San Jose, Calif., is branching into Houston and Seattle, and also into northern New Jersey and the District of Columbia. The firm works directly with retailers to bring the Deliv same-day delivery option into the retailer’s normal checkout process — whether on a website, over a mobile app or at the physical store. Deliv has added 18 malls to its network, including PREIT’s Springfield Town Center, which opened Oct. 17 in Washington, D.C., and Taubman’s Beverly Center, in Los Angeles.
Together with existing partners General Growth Properties, Macerich, Simon and Westfield, this triples the number of malls offering the service to 30. “This growth is a testament to the fact that our retail and mall operator partners are deriving enormous value from their ability to offer an enhanced customer experience through convenience and choice with the Deliv same-day delivery option,” said Deliv founder and CEO Daphne Carmeli in a press release.
