Walmart's same-store sales at brick-and-mortar stores remained strong in the fourth quarter, but its online sales slowed considerably as the company struggled to keep basic items stocked and available online during the holiday period, according to Reuters.
Sales at U.S. stores open at least a year rose by 2.6 percent, excluding fuel price fluctuations, while the market expected a rise of 2 percent, according to Consensus Metrix. The retailer's same-store sales have grown for three years in a row, a feat no other retailer has matched.
