Teen-apparel chain Tillys reported a 4.3 percent increase in same-store sales for the third quarter. Net sales at the Irvine, Calif.–based retailer's physical stores increased by 1.3 percent and represented about 86 percent of total net sales. Its e-commerce net sales, meanwhile, climbed by 26.7 percent and represented roughly 14 percent of total net sales.
Tillys anticipates that its fourth-quarter total net sales will range from roughly $163 million to $168 million, based on an assumed increase in comparable-store net sales of between 2 and 5 percent.
The company also anticipates opening about 20 new full-size stores during the coming fiscal year, plus an unspecified number of branded pop-up shops under its RSQ label, though the timing of any of those openings is still unknown.
Tillys currently operates 229 stores, including four RSQ pop-ups, across 33 states. As of Nov. 3, the retailer had about $120.5 million in cash and marketable securities on hand, and no debt outstanding.
