Tanger announced that it has “commenced the early due-diligence process for the future development” of a Tanger Outlet Center in Nashville, Tenn.
The company says the center will comprise roughly 280,000 square feet of gross leasable area.
Tanger calls Nashville one of the top growth markets in the country, citing a 70 percent increase in tourism there over the past decade. The new center is to be located near the downtown, enjoying direct highway visibility: It will be adjacent to a new interchange currently under construction.
The company announced no specific time frame for the center's opening.
“We intend to adhere to our long-standing underwriting discipline,” said CEO Steven Tanger in a press release, "and will not break ground until at least 60 percent of the project is leased."
