Small business sales growth decelerated in June as consumers reduced spending amid high prices and interest rates, according to Fiserv. The Fiserv Small Business Index dropped from 144 in May to 140 in June, as sales dipped 2.9% and transactions decreased 1.5%. Despite this slowdown, sales and transactions were higher in June of this year than in June 2023, indicating a cautious consumer approach due to economic pressures.
