Storefronts: What the tenants are up to

120% Lino
Sustainable Italian luxury brand 120% Lino, which operates six stores in Florida, has plans to expand its U.S. business to at least 24 stores. Almost all the brand’s apparel is made from linen. WWD (subscription required)

Charlotte Russe
The women’s apparel chain, which is expanding again under new ownership, says it will open a store at Millcreek Mall, in Erie, Pa., in March. Erie News Now

Clean Juice
This organic juice bar franchise opened seven stores and rolled out 13 franchised units in the fourth quarter of 2019. Its same-store sales grew by 21 percent in December. The company says it plans to open about 35 stores this year. Verdict Foodservice

Express
Women’s apparel chain Express announced the closure of about 90 stores by 2022, including 31 that are set to shut by the end of this month and 35 more that are to be closed by the end of next January. USA Today

High Times
The owner of High Times magazine announced that it will open one flagship store each in Las Vegas and Los Angeles. The company will also build a branded network of stores in states where cannabis is legal for recreational use, such as California and Nevada, as well as in those states where cannabis is legal for medicinal purposes, such as Florida and New York. The company says it aims to purchase or form partnerships with mom-and-pop dispensaries and then rebrand them. Yahoo Finance

Kirkland’s
The Brentwood, Tenn.–based home-decor chain says it will shut at least 27 stores across the country during the early part of this year. Moreover, the chain may close additional units later in the year. HomeWorld Business

Lucky’s Market
Boulder, Colo.–based natural foods supermarket chain Lucky’s intends to close as many as 32 of its 39 stores. Progressive Grocer

Papyrus
Stationery chain Papyrus announced that it will close its 260 stores. Advisory firm Gordon Bros. will assist with liquidating the merchandise and the shops. NJ.com

Payless ShoeSource
Shoe retailer Payless, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last year, says it plans to begin growing again under new leadership, after shuttering some 2,000 North American stores. GMA

Starbucks
Coffee giant Starbucks has plans to open about 100 stores in “underrepresented” communities by 2025, as part of what it calls a community-stores initiative. The idea is to hire from among local residents and help create community spaces in neighborhoods with high youth unemployment rates and comparatively low median household incomes. The company says it is already planning stores in the Anacostia neighborhood of Washington, D.C.; in Los Angeles; and in Prince George’s County, Md. Yahoo Lifestyle
