Small business owners have grappled with challenges from the pandemic to escalating inflation to a tight labor market over the past few years, and it has taken a toll. According to a recent survey by messaging service Slack, 40% of small business owners view 2024 as a “make-or-break year.” Despite this, resilience prevails. Almost three-quarters of respondents are taking steps to improve their business, about half are expanding marketing efforts to bring in new customers, and 43% said are exploring new technologies to increase productivity and efficiency.
