Off-price apparel and home-furnishings chain Ross Stores is set to open about 100 stores in the coming year.
The retailer announced the rollout of 75 Ross Dress for Less stores and 25 DD’s Discounts stores. “These recent openings reflect our ongoing plans to continue building our presence in both existing and newer markets, including the Midwest for Ross, and [the] expansion of DD’s Discounts into Oklahoma and Illinois,” said James Fassio, president and chief development officer, in an announcement of the openings.
“As we look out over the long term, we remain confident that Ross can grow to 2,400 locations and [that] DD’s Discounts can become a chain of 600 stores, given the consumer's ongoing focus on value”
In the past two months, the company has already opened 22 Ross Dress for Less stores and six DD’s Discounts stores across a dozen states. It now operates a total of 1,745 Ross Dress for Less and DD’s Discounts stores across 38 states, the District of Columbia and Guam. Plenty more are on the way in the longer term, says Fassio.
“As we look out over the long term, we remain confident that Ross can grow to 2,400 locations and [that] DD’s Discounts can become a chain of 600 stores," Fassio said, "given the consumer's ongoing focus on value.”
