Paula Deen expands restaurant empire

April 4, 2018

Celebrity chef, best-selling author, television personality and restaurateur Paula Deen opened the first Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen in Texas, at the Fairview (Texas) Town Center.

The restaurant comprises a 250-seat dining room and the Paula Deen Store, where guests may purchase items from the concept's home, kitchen and lifestyle collections. A fully functioning replica of Paula Deen's home kitchen, including an interactive cooking experience called "Cooking with Paula," is to roll out during the coming months.

Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen operates in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., and Myrtle Beach, S.C., and additional restaurants are being planned for later this year. Deen’s first restaurant, called The Lady & Sons, opened in downtown Savannah, Ga., in 1996.

“We can’t wait to bring the love and warmth of Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen to Dallas,” said Rajat Shah, founder and CEO of Phoenix Hospitality & Entertainment, the firm working with Deen to operate the restaurant. "Paula’s fans and guests are going to love the ‘Cooking with Paula’ experience we are launching later this year."
