Having acquired The Bon-Ton Stores’ intellectual property and trademarks for $900,000, CSC Generation has plans to open roughly 100 new stores for the brand over the next few years, according to CEO Justin Yoshimura.
Yoshimura told the Star Tribune that he is negotiating with landlords to reopen stores in Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. About two-thirds of the new stores will be at former locations, and the rest will be at locations near former locations.

“Our first Minnesota store will probably be in Rochester, but we haven’t signed a lease yet,” Yoshimura told the newspaper. "We hope to open 100-plus stores [nationwide] over the next few years and see many possibilities in Minnesota. But we haven’t completed our first store reopening yet. It depends on how [the] first few perform."
Yoshimura says the company has already placed orders with some of Bon-Ton’s former vendors and has even taken some orders that Bon-Ton backed out of when the company filed for bankruptcy.
