Macerich’s nine interns visited New York City on June 21 and 22 for a site visit, tours and a stop by the ICSC office. ICSC president and CEO Tom McGee got to know them, offered professional advice and talked with them about the organization, industry trends and ICSC’s commitment to developing talent.

Of the nine Macerich interns, four are participating in the ICSC Foundation Launch Academy: Chandler Perry, Rohan Kapoor, Kayla Smith and Cristal De La Torre. Another, Mat Chen, is a member of the ICSC Student Member Advisory Committee.
“We must invest in building the industry’s next generation of talent, and the Macerich summer internship program is a wonderful example of how to build a diverse bench of new professionals,” said ICSC Foundation president and ICSC senior vice president of volunteer engagement Lauri Novick.
During their trip, the group toured Macerich’s Queens Center and Kings Plaza, walked Hudson Yards, visited ICSC’s office and toured Fifth Avenue. In addition to those named above, ICSC Foundation manager of student engagement and University Partners James Dulin and ICSC vice president of diversity, equity and inclusion Jazmen Johnson are pictured at right.
