RETAIL FORWARD Powered by ICSC has wrapped. The event’s success in helping ICSC members connect has prompted ICSC to plan additional RETAIL FORWARD events for 2025. They will spotlight retailers and tenants and be hyper-local and hyper-focused on dealmaking to enable better leads, quicker connections and more-productive conversations.

The first RETAIL FORWARD Powered by ICSC occurred on Oct. 30 at the Hilton Columbus/Polaris in Ohio. The event was motivated in part by ICSC member feedback calling for cost-effective ways to connect. Retailers — including national and regional brands and local franchisees — enjoyed complimentary registration and tables. Additionally, attendees communicated that the new format added value to the ICSC member experience in their “home” geography, reducing travel and related expenses.

The more than 360 attendees enjoyed three hours of dealmaking at 54 tables. A two-hour networking reception followed.

RETAIL FORWARD gathered those most active in Ohio in one place, and ICSC streamlined dealmaking further by providing attendees with The Site Shopper, a printed book detailing exhibiting retailers’ site and space requirements, initial leasing and renewal terms, broker and territory contact details and other vital site and demographic preferences.

RETAIL FORWARD Events in 2025

ICSC has slated RETAIL FORWARD events in Long Beach, California; Columbus; Houston; Montreal; and Philadelphia for 2025. Registration is open for the Long Beach event, which will connect Southern California dealmakers and will be held on Feb. 13.

“The first RETAIL FORWARD event was a unique dealmaking opportunity designed to spark connections and accelerate deals,” said ICSC president and CEO Tom McGee. “This series of one-stop-shop events will enable retailers, owners, brokers and more to convene in fast-paced environments and drive mutually beneficial outcomes that generate commerce and build vibrant communities in their local communities.”
