Does your company hire paid summer interns? If so, post your positions with the ICSC Foundation’s Summer Internship Program! We have access to thousands of bright, ambitious and diverse undergraduate and graduate students across North America. It’s simple, easy and free to participate.
Here’s how it works.
Member Companies submit internship opportunities to the ICSC Foundation. Opportunities are posted on the Talent HQ page of the ICSC website located here. The Foundation markets these internships to thousands of students including ICSC student members, ICSC Foundation scholarship recipients, and numerous universities across North America. Intern salaries are paid by the company
Meanwhile, all hired students will also receive a free ICSC student membership, free registration at an ICSC conference, and the opportunity to participate in the Foundation’s Mentorship Program to commence immediately following the internship in September 2020
Applicants who are offered an internship can apply for a Summer Internship Grant of up to $1,000 from the ICSC Foundation. Grants are contingent upon financial need and must be used to cover basic living expenses during the internship.
It’s not too early to start posting for summer 2020.
Last summer some participating companies included: Acadia Realty Trust, Cedar Realty Trust, Inc., Cushman & Wakefield, DLC Management Corp., HFF, JLL, Kimco Realty, Oxford Properties, Regency Centers, ShopCore, Related, The Shopping Center Group, Venture Commercial Real Estate, VEREIT.
“My summer internship at ShopCore Properties was a great way to gain experience working in retail real estate. ShopCore is cultivating a very collaborative environment; everyone on my team was very driven but also approachable and willing to answer questions,” said Alice Schweiger, a UCLA student, ShopCore Properties 2019 summer internship recipient and 2018-19 ICSC Foundation Undergraduate Diversity Scholarship recipient. “Over the course of the summer, I was invited to become involved with live deals and do meaningful work alongside the asset management team. Also, I was given the opportunity to present a capstone project to the company’s executives at their headquarters in Chicago.”
The Summer Internship Program is part of the Foundation’s Talent Incubator Project, designed to develop the industry’s next generation of talent. The Project is comprised of the following four initiatives: Scholarships, Mentorships, Internships and University Partnerships.
