ICSC Foundation Battles the Marketplaces Industry’s Talent Shortage

December 11, 2023

The Marketplaces Industry faces a significant talent shortage, and the ICSC Foundation is helping students like Zach Ng learn about and find careers in retail and real estate.

You can help, too. By donating or volunteering with the ICSC Foundation, you will expose thousands of students across the U.S. and Canada to the Marketplaces Industry and its many career paths.

Ng, a 2023 graduate of the University of Miami, recently started a full-time position at Acadia Realty Trust after a successful summer 2022 internship there through the ICSC Foundation’s Launch Academy, an experiential and learning internship program. He said: “Learning about careers in CRE can be difficult since it is less popular than other business careers. ICSC's Launch Academy exposed me to both real estate content and industry professionals that were integral to starting my career, and I am so grateful to have participated in the program.

Through the Foundation’s Talent Incubator Project, the Foundation has made big strides in building a pipeline of bright, ambitious and diverse talent and is grateful to past and current donors. But it still has more work to do. To continue supporting students like Ng, invest now in building the next generation of professionals:

• Make a tax-deductible contribution.
• Volunteer your time as a mentor or a scholarship judge.
• Participate in the ICSC Foundation’s internship programs or meet with students at an ICSC event.

If you have questions or would like more information, please reach out to ICSC Foundation president Lauri Novick at lnovick@icsc.com.
