ICSC Asia-Pacific Shopping Center Awards honor Korea’s Starfield Hanum

October 24, 2018

This year's ICSC Asia-Pacific Shopping Center Awards winners, culled from the very best of the region's new retail projects, offer a host of innovative ideas for marketing, promoting, designing and developing retail properties.

One of the winning entries was Starfield Hanam, a new shopping center in Hanamsi, South Korea.

Developed and managed by Taubman Asia and Shinsegae Property, Starfield Hanam is a multi-level development set in an idyllic parkland location, that features luxury flagship stores, a variety of food and beverage offerings, and cultural and recreational facilities. Anchors include a 484,448-square-foot Shinsegae department store, a 184,995-square-foot Traders hypermarket and a 62,703-square-foot PK Market supermarket.

Hong Kong-based architecture firm Benoy designed the 4.9 million-square-foot center, which includes a 139,684-square-foot water park, a 63,027-square-foot multi-screen movie theater and 21,406-square-foot sports entertainment park.

The center earned the Gold Award in the Design and Development – New Developments category. See this year's entire group of winners and honorees.
