Circuit City planning comeback that will include stores

January 9, 2018

Electronics chain Circuit City is making a comeback. CEO Ronny Shmoel said the defunct retailer will launch a new website on Jan. 15. This is to be followed by kiosks, in-store boutiques and, eventually, the company's own portfolio of freestanding stores, according to CNBC.

Shmoel acquired the brand, domain and associated trademarks of Circuit City in October 2015. The company filed for bankruptcy in 2008 and closed its last store in 2009.
