• Act as a policy resource for elected officials on industry issues
• Communicate regularly with your assigned legislator through meetings, site visits and other events
• Share information with the Government Relations & Public Policy office, which will support your efforts
• Stay up-to-date on key legislation with briefings from the Office of Government Relations & Public Policy
• Join in conference calls and events where you can network with peers and grow valuable relationships with your elected officials

Arrange a Meeting with a Congressional District Office

Capitol Hill is a hectic place. One of the best ways to communicate with elected officials is through face-to-face meetings while they are home in their districts.

All Members of Congress have district offices that exist to serve constituents like you.

We can help you set up those meetings and offer valuable tips and talking points.

Organize a Site Visit for a Member of Congress

Hosting a site visit at your center is a great way to demonstrate your role in the community and discuss policy issues that are impacting your business. Site visits give Members of Congress the chance to see economic development in their communities and meet with constituents.

Retail venues also provide an ideal setting for an elected official to:

• Attend a ribbon cutting welcoming a new business (a great photo opportunity)
• Host events like town halls, press conferences (especially addressing economic issues and jobs), and even fundraisers
• Establish a campaign headquarters
