Empire Outlets, New York City’s first outlet center, will open in the fall, according to its developer BFC Partners.
Seventy percent of the center’s storefronts are leased, as reported by Staten Island Advance, and stores including Nordstrom Rack and H&M have started construction on the interior of their spaces.
"To date, one of the milestones we've hit is retailers have started to take possession of their spaces and build out their interior suites," Joseph Ferrara, principal of BFC Partners, told Staten Island Advance.
Ferrara added that Banana Republic, Old Navy and Gap Factory will have their stores by the end of the month. "The majority of the spaces will be turned over to tenants by the end of August,” he said.
Ferrara also added that while most of the stores will open in the fall, some spaces will be “pop-up type of scenarios.”
